Dejavu

Dejavu

Dejavu is a Japanese beauty brand known for its eye makeup products, combining performance with an approachable everyday aesthetic.

From 2021–2023, I worked across social media content and digital assets, developing visual communication for product launches, campaigns, and ongoing brand content. The work focused on finding a visual balance between Dejavu’s Japanese character, beauty positioning, and a younger audience.

THE OUTCOME

THE OUTCOME

The visual direction evolved toward a more youthful and contemporary expression while maintaining the approachable character of the brand.

Across social media, the system was adapted to different product stories and campaign needs, creating a consistent visual language without making every piece of content feel the same.

THE CHALLENGE

THE CHALLENGE

The challenge was to develop a visual direction that could speak to young adults entering a new stage of life — moving from a more youthful beauty aesthetic toward something more mature and refined.

The communication needed to feel:

Youthful, but not childish.
Mature, but not overly formal.
Japanese, without feeling overly traditional.

This became the basis for the project's “Early Mature” visual direction.

THE EXECUTION

THE EXECUTION

The visual direction was translated across social media through a combination of clean layouts, product-focused compositions, typography, and motion.

Static and motion assets were developed as part of the same visual language, allowing different types of content to feel connected while giving each campaign room to have its own character.

The approach balanced product communication with lifestyle-driven visuals to keep the brand approachable and relevant across everyday social content.
